The Nutrilite Health Institute welcomes a new Board member, bringing experience in nutrition and public health.
BUENA PARK, Calif., March 3, 2016 – With the addition of a new member to its Scientific Advisory Board, the Nutrilite Health Institute of Amway is gaining expertise in basic nutrition and public health.
The new Board member is Dr. Winai Dahlan, M.Sc., Ph.D., founding director of the Halal Science Center at Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, Thailand.
“Dr. Dahlan significantly strengthens and broadens our Board. His perspective will be invaluable as we develop plans for research to support new product ideas,” said Dr. Keith Randolph, PhD, technology strategist for the Nutrilite Health Institute and chair of the Nutrilite Scientific Advisory Board.
Dr. Dahlan started his career as scientist in the medical laboratory at Faculty of Medicine, Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University before moving to be lecturer at Faculty of Science, Ramkhamhaeng University where he established the first scientific research unit of Food and Nutrition Research Center. He then founded the Halal Science Center in 2004, the first ever halal science institution in the world.
Dr. Dahlan’s educational background includes a B.Sc. of biochemistry at Chulalongkorn University in Thailand, an M.Sc. in nutrition from Mahidol University in Thailand, and a Ph.D. in Applied Medical Biology at Universite Libre de Bruxelles in Belgium.
The Scientific Advisory Board is now composed of 13 leading scientists in the fields of nutrition, health and genetics from around the world.
