Establishing a Second Business

International Sponsoring
International sponsoring is always an option and an excellent means of expanding your business while avoiding many of the costs and complexities associated with establishing a second business. Please note: For those markets where foreigners are able to establish a second business, they must be the international sponsor of their second business in another country.

There are two methods for foreigners to own an Amway Business in the Philippines. In all cases, retail selling is prohibited.

A. Corporation
1. 100% foreign-owned – Requires a large investment of U.S. $200,000 (with evidence required that funds have been appropriately remitted).
2. 60/40 corporation - 60% local, 40% foreign ownership

Non-resident foreign Business Owners who intend to have an active Amway business in the Philippines must form a legal entity as listed in paragraph two above and will need to comply with all local business registration and filing procedures.

B. Marketing Advisor
A Marketing Advisor is an ABO with demonstrated leadership capabilities in another market providing offshore business consultancy to his ABO group in the Philippines.

Effective September 16, 2013, the moratorium on the Marketing Advisor (MA) Program in the Philippines has been lifted, with the following changes:

To become a Marketing Advisor under this new MA Program, you must:

1. Be an “Emerald Bonus Recipient (EBR) and above in previous year” (Qualified Diamonds and above in China).
2. Attend a mandatory orientation program to help understand obligations as a Marketing Advisor. This training is required in person, in the Philippines, before acceptance of the Marketing Advisor application by Amway Philippines.

As Marketing Advisors:
a) Visits are limited to short business trips with proper visa
b) Comply with local immigration laws
c) May not retail products but may sponsor, train, and promote Amway business
d) May purchase and sell starter kits to prospects
e) Purchase only maximum allowable amount of products equivalent to 500 personal PV or a maximum of 5 eaches per SKU
f) Must not have a place of business in the Philippines
g) Must not have other local Philippine business activities, including a BSM business
