George Calvert is Chief Supply Chain Officer and oversees all global supply chain operations for Amway. He is responsible for manufacturing, warehousing, distribution, demand planning, purchasing, contract sales, global trade, facilities, engineering, quality assurance/control and all farming operations. In addition, he oversees Metagenics, Inc., a $350 million global lifestyle medicine company owned by Amway’s parent company Alticor. Calvert reports to Michael Nelson, Chief Administrative Officer and serves on Amway’s Executive Staff comprised of cross-functional executive leaders focused on enhancing company culture, talent capabilities and global market needs.
Calvert joined the company in 1989 as a group leader in analytical services. He served
in various leadership positions within Research and Development, including product development for Nutrition and Durables, Quality Assurance and Analytical Services as well as being responsible for the company’s business innovations function. He had oversight of all Amway’s research and development operations as vice president for 15 years.
In 2009, Calvert began serving on the board of directors for the Personal Care Products Council (PCPC), the nation’s leading trade association representing the personal care products and cosmetics industry. He currently serves as its board chairman.
Calvert earned a BS in chemistry from the College of William and Mary, and a doctorate in analytical chemistry from the University of South Carolina.
