Step up your self-care in 6

Do you make time for “me time?” You should. Self-care has never been more important to our overall physical, mental and emotional health. Here’s how to squeeze some self-care into your busy schedule, in just 15 minutes a day.

1. Unplug and unwind

Put down your devices and charge your own batteries. Go for a brisk walk, pour a cup of coffee, read a chapter in your favorite book, play with your dog, or daydream out your front window. Do anything that takes your focus off your to-do list and shifts it to Y-O-U. You deserve it.

2. Practice mindfulness

There’s no better way to naturally reduce stress, lower blood pressure and rewire your brain to form new thoughts and habits. Mindfulness begins with breath work. Find a quiet place and sit comfortably with your back straight and your hands relaxed on your lap. Feel the natural flow of your breath as you inhale and exhale. Let the hypnotic repetition calm your senses. When your mind wanders, use your breath as an anchor to gently center yourself.

Enhance your experience with soft music or a soothing facial treatment like Artistry™ Intensive Skincare Renewing Peel. It exfoliates and energizes your skin in just eight minutes, so you’ll come out of your mindful moment looking and feeling refreshed.

3. Get Your RDV

Eating a vital variety of colorful fruits and vegetables every day can be daunting but it’s essential for supporting optimal health. Take the pressure off by filling the nutritional gaps in your diet with a super supplement like Nutrilite™ Daily, which packs 100% or more of the Recommended Daily Value of 17 essential vitamins and minerals. It’s the ultimate on-the-go multi-vitamin.

4. #WOFH

Backyard workouts are ideal for fitting in random acts of fitness. Create a bodyweight circuit, boost cardio by adding stairs, change things up with a quick run. The variety will keep you challenged and motivated, and the open air will boost your spirits.

For peak performance, stay hydrated––by the time you’re thirsty, you’re already dehydrated. Drink 20 ounces of water an hour before you work out and eight more for every 15 minutes of exercise. Amplify your results by mixing in XS™ Muscle Multiplier*†† Essential Amino Acid Supplement, a next generation Essential Amino Acid (EAA) blend that helps your body build lean muscle mass and rebound faster.*††

5. Get a good night’s sleep

Your optimal health depends on 7-9 hours nightly, yet falling––and staying––asleep may feel like an impossible dream. As your body sleeps, your brain goes into hyperdrive to repair, restore and re-energize you for the next day. Good sleep also decreases your risk of obesity, diabetes, heart disease, infection, mental illness, chronic stress and other serious health concerns.

Not a Sleeping Beauty? Consider your self-care routine. In the evening, avoid caffeine, alcohol, napping or screens. Commit to a bedtime ritual like a warm bath, skincare regimen, soft music, light reading or whatever relaxes you. Supplements like Nutrilite™ Sleep Health can help you relax so you can fall sleep, too, with a unique blend of valerian, hops and lemon balm.* If you wake up in the middle of the night, lie there and practice mindful breath work––and resist the temptation to check your phone.

6. Check in with friends

Good friends are good for your soul and a cornerstone of self-care. Seeking pockets of time to connect with them is essential to your emotional wellness. When you surround yourself with community, it elevates your mood, builds your sense of self and brings work-life balance, all while reducing stress, lowering blood pressure and even helping alleviate depression. So get social through video chat, call, text, livestream events, or whatever brings you joy and makes you feel connected!
