Blake Shue
Blake Shue is an investor with leadership roles across several DeVos family business ventures, including Wakestream Holdings, where he serves on multiple boards and committees. He is also a partner at Baton Collective, which manages a diverse portfolio spanning retail, restaurants, commercial and office real estate, youth sports and aviation. Outside of his family business involvement, Blake focuses on acquiring and operating multifamily real estate and investing in early-stage companies in sectors such as health and nutrition, space technology and consumer packaged goods.
Before his current endeavors, Blake worked at Deutsche Bank, where he served on their commercial real estate lending team, originating billions in loans for all commercial asset types across the country. Prior to Deutsche Bank, he worked at Cushman & Wakefield in Washington, D.C., on the debt and equity capital markets team, brokering the financing of all real estate asset classes.
Blake and his wife, Hannah VanderWeide Shue, are dedicated supporters of various charities and initiatives designed to help individuals gain the resources needed to achieve their full potential and maintain long-term vitality. As part of their commitment, they contribute to a small community called The Well, which funds all operational costs for charity: water, ensuring that 100% of donations go directly to clean water projects. With a passion for the outdoors, Blake started a scholarship opportunity partnering with a Colorado-based guiding company in order to provide funds for guides looking to advance their career through education and professional certifications.
Their shared passion for entrepreneurship inspired them to collaborate with family members to launch SpringGR, an initiative in Grand Rapids, Michigan, aimed at empowering underserved entrepreneurs with the skills necessary to start and scale their businesses. Additionally, Blake and Hannah have established a scholarship at Wake Forest University, their alma mater, specifically for first-generation students pursuing entrepreneurship. Blake and his family have also consistently given back to his high school alma mater, Landon School, through their annual fundraising efforts and their most recent capital campaign in which Blake and his family dedicated a space to their newly constructed Upper School.
Blake holds a bachelor’s degree in communication and sociology from Wake Forest University and studied at the London School of Economics. He and Hannah currently reside in Colorado, with their two children and golden retriever. During his free time, Blake enjoys hiking, skiing, biking, fly fishing, smoking cigars and playing guitar.
