Amway + Global Entrepreneurship Week #AGER2015

Amway partners with Global Entrepreneurship Week

Sponsorship elevates impact of annual Amway Global Entrepreneurship Report

ADA, Mich., October 1, 2015 – In the spirit of supporting entrepreneurship everywhere, Amway will be a sponsor of Global Entrepreneurship Week(GEW) to promote the Amway Global Entrepreneurship Report (AGER) through GEW 2015 events, November 16-22.

A weeklong event held every November, GEW is a celebration of the innovators and job creators who launch startups that bring ideas to life, drive economic growth and expand human welfare. From large-scale competitions to one-on-one networking sessions, entrepreneurs and others connect through local, national and global activities designed to help them explore their potential as self-starters and innovators, introducing them to new possibilities and opportunities.

“Relationships built on trust and loyalty are what power entrepreneurial success,” says Amway President Doug DeVos. “Joining forces with GEW allows us to heighten awareness of the role business owners play in the global economy. It gives both our organizations a powerful platform for inspiring entrepreneurs and creating a more favorable environment for their success.”

GEW is more than an awareness campaign – engaging players along the entrepreneurship spectrum and strengthening startup ecosystems around the world. The week serves as a catalyst for connection and collaboration between entrepreneurs, mentors and investors, as well as researchers and policymakers interested in policies and programs to promote economic growth. Last year’s highlights include 157 countries, with more than 11,000 organizing partners who hosted 28,000 activities that involved more than 8.2 million participants.

“Interest in startups and entrepreneurship continues to grow in all parts of the world,” said Jonathan Ortmans, president of Global Entrepreneurship Week. “GEW provides a shot of adrenaline to accelerate the development of a new class of global entrepreneurs with access to the programs, research and network they need to maximize their potential.”

Further, with national campaigns in 160 countries, GEW serves as an official Amway partner from October 1, 2015 to October 1, 2016 to share news about the 2015 AGER with a worldwide audience. “This partnership strengthens our credibility by broadening our audience,” adds DeVos. “We’re reaching 44 countries with AGER, and now each of these markets will make a new connection with its respective GEW contact. These relationships will inevitably inspire a grassroots momentum for advancing entrepreneurship.”

Now in its sixth year, the 2015 AGER will be revealed during GEW on Wednesday, November 18. Other November 18 highlights include an Amway hosted Facebook chat (facebook.com/amway) featuring Amway President Doug DeVos to reveal the 2015 AGER from 7:00-8:00 a.m. EST, which will be promoted worldwide as a GEW featured event and one of a handful of GEW USA National Picks. This lively hour will jumpstart an Amway and GEW hosted event also on November 18 in Washington DC featuring a panel forum with entrepreneurship experts from 8:30-10:00 a.m. EST.
