Blake Shue

Blake Shue is an investor actively involved in the leadership of his family’s businesses, including Wakestream Holdings, which is owned by the DeVos family. Within Wakestream Holdings, he sits on various boards and committees. Additionally, he is actively involved as a partner at Baton Collective, which focuses on a variety of businesses including commercial real estate development and management, youth sports initiatives, and aviation. Outside of the family businesses, Blake focuses primarily on acquiring and operating multifamily real estate, as well as investing in early-stage ventures related to health, nutrition, blockchain, space technology, and consumer packaged goods.

Before his current endeavors, Blake worked at Deutsche Bank, where he sat on their commercial real estate lending team, originating billions in loans for all commercial asset types across the country. Prior to Deutsche Bank, he worked at Cushman & Wakefield in Washington, D.C., on the debt and equity capital markets team, brokering the financing of all real estate asset classes.

Blake and his wife, Hannah, are dedicated supporters of various charities and initiatives designed to help individuals gain the resources needed to achieve their full potential and maintain long-term vitality. As part of their commitment, they contribute to a small community called The Well, which funds all operational costs for charity: water, ensuring that 100% of donations go directly to clean water projects. With a passion for the outdoors, Blake started a scholarship opportunity partnering with a Colorado-based guiding company in order to provide funds for guides looking to advance their career through education and professional certifications.

Their shared passion for entrepreneurship inspired them to collaborate with family members to launch SpringGR, an initiative in Grand Rapids, Michigan, aimed at empowering underserved entrepreneurs with the skills necessary to start and scale their businesses. Additionally, Blake and Hannah have established a scholarship at Wake Forest University, their alma mater, specifically for first-generation students pursuing entrepreneurship. Blake and his family have also consistently given back to his high school alma mater, Landon School, through their annual fundraising efforts and their most recent capital campaign in which Blake and his family dedicated a space to their newly constructed Upper School.

Blake holds a bachelor’s degree in communication and sociology from Wake Forest University and studied at the London School of Economics. He and Hannah currently reside in Colorado with their son and Golden Retriever. During his free time, Blake enjoys hiking, skiing, biking, fly fishing, smoking cigars, and playing guitar.
