David Van Andel

David Van Andel is a member of the Board of Directors of Alticor, parent company of Amway, one of the world’s leading direct selling companies.

Van Andel is chairman and CEO of the Van Andel Institute for Education and Medical Research in Grand Rapids, Michigan, a biomedical center that focuses on cancer and Parkinson’s research, and science education.  The center was founded by his parents, the late Jay and Betty Van Andel. Van Andel has various business interests in health and wellness companies. He also is co-owner and chairman of the Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League.

Van Andel formerly was the chief operating officer of Pyxis Innovations Inc., a former Amway Innovations subsidiary. He also was Amway’s senior vice president/managing director – Americas and Europe, with responsibility for business in more than 30 markets in North America, Europe and Latin America. He also directed new market development for the corporation.

In addition, Van Andel has served as Amway’s senior vice president – operations, vice president of manufacturing and operations, and director of regional distribution centers. In these roles, he oversaw global manufacturing, global distribution, information systems, engineering, forecasting/planning, purchasing and import-export operations.

Van Andel serves, and has served, on the boards of numerous civic, cultural, and community organizations, including Grand Action; The Right Place, Inc.; American Cancer Society Foundation of Michigan; The Economic Club of Grand Rapids; and Hope College (Holland, Michigan).
