Dr. Oran Kwon is actively involved in research and teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level as a Professor for the Department of Nutritional Science & Food in Seoul, South Korea. She is also involved as a Dean at the Science & Industry Convergence College. Her current research is focused on phytochemicals in culinary plants and studying how multiple components in traditional herbs impact health at the clinical level.
Dr. Kwon has authored numerous paper and articles and is a member of many scientific organizations and committees including, the International Life Science Institute and the International Alliance of Dietary/Food Supplement. She has also served as an advisory board member for the Prime Minister’s Office, Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, and Ministry of Health and Welfare.
She holds a BS, MSD and PhD in Nutrition from Ewha Womans University, and has experience working for the US National Institute of Health and Korea Food and Drug Administration.
