Purchasing Products
All Amway Business Owners purchase products directly from Amway.

Bonus Payment
Bonuses will be paid directly to all Amway Business Owners who have earned the bonus. Bonus payments will be paid by bank transfer.

PV/BV Transfers
PV/BV transfers are not available.

Single Line Of Sponsorship
Portugal and Spain. This Single Line Of Sponsorship is used for personal sponsoring and bonus calculation (since November 98). All businesses prior to this date are under the International sponsor rules (benefits for annual bonus calculation only for Emeralds and above).

Amway Business Owners may purchase Starter Kits directly from Amway Iberia.

Cost of Starter Kit
– 30,75€

Sponsoring
Sponsoring is done on the website and is free.  The prospect needs to purchase the Starter Kit with their first product order.

Business Type

I – Amway Business Owner (ABO)
This is the business builder, eligible to register other Amway Business Owners and Members, merchandise, receive Performance Volume Bonuses, Service Commissions and take advantage of all of the benefits of owning an Amway business.

C – Client
This is someone who simply loves the products, is not currently interested in the benefits or costs of membership, and wants to buy products from an Amway Business Owner.

Marketing Advisor
A status which allows European Amway Business Owners to sponsor and purchase products for personal consumption in other Marketing Advisor Markets (MAM) without maintaining a formal, legal presence there while maintaining the same benefits of the Sales and Marketing plan as a multiple business. It does not provide for combining volumes between markets for purposes of bonus calculations.

Eligibility:
Platinum Pin and above in any of the markets listed below. Diamond Pin in any existing Amway market that has multiple businesses in any of the markets participating in the program.

Participating Markets:
If you have a traditional Amway Business Owner business and local address in one of the below countries (home market) you can have businesses in the remaining countries (Marketing Advisor countries) as a Marketing Advisor.

Austria, Hungary, Netherlands, Spain/Portugal,
Germany, Czech Republic, United Kingdom, Poland, Switzerland,
France, Italy, Slovenia, and Scandinavia

Benefits:
– Receive individual MAM commission checks in your home country in home currency
– Minimal business and tax registration and reporting requirements
– Maintain and develop lines of sponsorship within each market
-Renewing Amway Business Ownership in the home country will automatically renew your Marketing Advisor Businesses, although an annual subscription fee will be charged for each market
– Amagram online, LOS information, bonus statements will be available online from www.amway.pt
– You will continue to be recognised in the Marketing Advisor Markets for your achievements

Activities Allowed as a Marketing Advisor:
– Sponsoring & Demonstration of Sales and Marketing Plan
– Speaking Engagements
– Can not purchase products for personal use

Activities not permitted as a Marketing Advisor:
– Retailing product
– Travel to the market more than 8 out of 90 days

Establish a Second Business

International Sponsoring
International sponsoring is always an option and an excellent means of expanding your business while avoiding many of the costs and complexities associated with establishing a second business. Please note: For those markets where foreigners are able to establish a second business, they must be the international sponsor of their second business in another country.

Establishment of a second business involves complex business and legal issues. Amway Business Owners should always contact the affiliate and obtain the advice of a local attorney before attempting to establish a second business.

Business Entities
Amway Business Owners may establish a second business in Portugal. The most common forms of Amway Business Ownerships are: Sole Proprietorship, Partnership and Limited Liability Company. You should consult with a local attorney to identify the best business entity to accomplish your business goals. If you wish to operate in a form other than a Sole Proprietorship, you should contact the affiliate to discuss Amway’s policy concerning the formation of the business entity.

Visa Requirements
Any foreign citizen residing and working in Portugal must obtain a Residence Visa and Work Visa. If the individual applies for a Residence permit and it is granted, then the Work Visa is no longer necessary. Companies with foreign shareholders require the approval of ICEP – INVESTIMENTO, COMERCIO E TURISMO DE PORTUGAL for incorporation.

The Portuguese Consulate in your country of residence should be contacted in advance to obtain a general idea of the appropriate immigration requirements for your business purposes. Laws relating to visa requirements are constantly changing and formalities and requirements may differ according to the country of origin.

Amway Business Owners must consult experts in the country to obtain advice on appropriate immigration requirements. Consulting an expert is also important, if you do not intend to reside there.

Amway Business Owner Registration Requirements
There are various registration requirements for Amway Business Owners in Portugal, which include:
1) Registration with the General Director of Internal Trade (no fee required). Completion time: 30 days
2) Registration with the local Commercial Register (fee is 30 Euros). Completion time: Two weeks to two months
3) Registration with the Local Tax Department (no fee required). Completion time: Immediate
4) Social Security Registration (no fee required). Completion time: Immediate
Additional formalities apply to the incorporation of a company
5) A local address
6) A local bank account
7) The Portuguese Tax ID number is mandatory for registration, ordering and renewal

NOTE: Registration for Social Security purposes may not be necessary if the Amway Business Owner is already registered for another activity.

Returns/Refunds
Starter Kit returns will be accepted 90 days from date of application submission. Any Amway Business Owner who resigns from Amway Business within 90 days of joining will be entitled to a refund for his business pack. A letter of resignation and his Amway Business Owner Indentification Card should accompany the returned Business Kit. Reimbursement for the cost of the Business Kit will be made directly to the resigning Amway Business Owner.

Products may be returned under the Customer Satisfaction Guarantee policy, (90 days from date of purchase). Amway Business Owners should request that Amway returns products.
